fails to extract chinese text on german-locale system.

Trying out the e-PDF To Text Converter I downloaded this app and put it to the test with a simple two-sided three-fold brochure in its pdf form. The content was translated into text, RTF, JPGs, TIFFs, URLs (seemingly connected to PDF type faces) and some unknown category labeled "Inflated". These files were deposited neatly into appropriately-named directories. The PDF was distilled, in this manner, less than a minute. The text was then ready to be copy-n-pasted into other documents (in THIS case, a html version). Comment: e-PDF To Text Whether its possible to extract coordinate data from this converter. I mean to say, whether it is possible to get the position of each and every word on the particular page as well as the left margin and right margin value of each and every word through this converter. If not, is there any software is gettable to fulfill all the requirements.

PDF2TXT was a life saver for me! I needed to extract text from PDF reports to load data into a database to produce statistical reports. The Adobe save to text file function was wrapping and folding the tabular data unpredictably in the output. Not only did PDF2TXT cleanly convert all the data into tabular text, it did it fast, and conveniently batch processed multiple files. I made my deadline thanks to PDF2TXT!

Works Great. I'm using pdf2txt to convert a pdf document on the fly from a vbscript by executing a shell command. Works flawlessly!

I actually wasn`t able to use it very much. I had to format my computer and found a 'codec' that does the conversion for free and that's all I needed. But it did work well! Thanks.

Good program, complicated to use This is a good program although it is quite complicated to use, you need some knowledge on HTML, Java-script/Java/VBscript and persaverance with learning the program, I dont think it is a solution for scraping sites with a search function as the site may have a function designed to stop this kind of activity. All in all good for free, also it ran very slow after collecting only a small amount of data, although my computer is a bit dated (2.4gb Celeron OC'ed to 2.6gb with 1gb of RAM etc.).

Review of Screen-Scraper basic An excellent product, which does exactly what it says and exactly what I wanted.It would be helpful to have additional information and guidance about the use of Character sets option, as I spent ages wondering why my extracted information included unknown characters. A forum entry pointed me in the right direction but also indicated that different character sets were not available on the basic edition - but they are. But now I know, it's OK!I'm only just getting to grips with the functionality, but I can see huge potential and will probably upgrade to a "paid for" edition ...

it ask administrator role on OS for install I has not administrator role on OS - so I can not install SqlLobEditor. But I install NetBeans it need not administrator role- it is ok for me.

I was quite excited to try this program and buy it. However my trial was short-lived.It seemed to install OK and I got the blue square on the system tray. On clicking it, the cursor became crosshairs which I assumed are used to select the text on screen. I installed the latest and greatest (most s/w now auto-detects the OS of the pc and installs the suitable files for that system) after installing it i clicked the start>all programs > capture text > capture text... and got nothing.i am running xp sp 3 v 2002 dual core intel at 1.86 with 2 gb ram.

I tried to extract the text from a web site file that was in picture format but was unable to do so with Capture Text. I could copy what was on the screen, but the copied text was still in picture format. I then deleted Capture Text from my computer.Patrick CarrollE-mail: patrick2@telus.net
